The Workhouse Network

The Workhouse Network has been in existence since 2014 and brings together expertise from the museums and heritage sectors, archives and Universities. It exists to share this expertise, develop skills, knowledge and understanding and to promote the understanding of the history and contemporary relevance of poverty, welfare and the poor.

Membership is open to any museum or heritage site located within a former workhouse, or sites reflecting the history of poverty and welfare. The Network also welcomes individual members who are researching or interested in the history of welfare and the contemporary relevance of poverty.
