The Neurodiverse Museum

The Neurodiverse Museum has been set up to change the way museums and the cultural sector as a whole, approaches neurodiversity. In case you’re not familiar, neurodivergence includes autism, ADHD, ADD, dyslexia OCD, ODD dyspraxia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia and others. We are neurodivergent led.

The aim of the network is to shift the narrative within the museums sector around neurodiversity. We aim to change how neurodivergent people are supported as audiences and members of the workforce, change the representation of neurodivergent people through museums, and foster a culture of nothing about us without us.

We are in the process of creating The Principles for Museums and Neurodiversity, hold 3-4 online network meetings a year, and currently have over 150 different individuals representing organisation across the four UK nations working together for change.

Drop us an email if you’d like to get involved.
